Equella, How does it work?

Anyone out there in the online community know how Equella works? I have avoided it for several semesters because it tells me that I am not logged in. However, when I login to the university, it still will not allow me to access all of the teaching videos, etc. The pink screen tells me: Failed to validate ticket with CAS server. Email etiquette in GS 120

For some reason, I'm having a bigger problem this semester than in previous semesters with my students' email etiquette. No "Dear Sister Instructor" or "Sincerely, Joe Student" is irritating and unprofessional, but I can deal with that. The problem is when the email address doesn't contain a name, there's no signature, and the student writes a brief, cryptic, text-style message. More than once I've been left guessing who the person is and which assignment he/she is referring to.

Attachments to emails in ILearn

One of the instructors in my group and I were thinking it would be awesome if we could do attachments to emails right from I-Learn. Is there a way to do this?

We also think it would also be amazingly awesome if students could reply to comments in the gradebook easier :)

Notifications in I-Learn Suggestion

Here is a suggestion a student sent me regarding I-Learn: "Is there a way that BYU-I I-Learn team can change the program to have a tab at the top of I-Learn so that when we have people respond to our discussion post we get a notification? It would work almost like Facebook. If we saw like a notification banner at the top, I think we would be more drawn to see who has replied to us. That might make it more interactive."
