Adobe Connect Issues

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to figure out who I can talk to about an Adobe Connect issue that some of my other fellow FDWLD 201 instructors seem to be experiencing as well. Last week while trying to hold an online class meeting, many of my students were not able to launch Adobe Connect and got a message saying something like unto the following "limit for this account has been exceeded".

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin Turley

  • So maybe we spoke too soon.  It appears IT is still working on this and we hope to hear better news from them soon on the resolution.

    • Joel,

I'm still having this issue. Are there any updates that you or anyone else might be able to give?

      • Kevin, can you tell me the day and time?  Was it the same message? "limit for this account has been exceeded"?

        -Joel G.

  • Yes. I had a lot of students that could not get into the live, virtual lab tonight in CIT 230. I then could not get in after transferring from my phone to desktop. Glad to see it is being discussed. May have to move my meeting time.

  • I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person who has been having this problem. But today (Wednesday, September 28, 2016), I am still receiving the message. I have made several attempts to login to my own Office Hours room without success. Should I try to find a different time during the week when Adobe Connect is not being used? But even then, how would I know? If anyone has additional advise, please let me know. I'm not sure who to contact with this issue.

    • Leonard, Wednesday nights seem to be the worst culprits.  Switching from a Wednesday could help, though we and our students should not have to worry about such constraints...especially since BYU-Idaho has sufficient licenses.  There just appears to be an issue with the vendor servers not knowing that.

In the mean time, and since we still don't know how long this will take to get resolved, you might try another day/evening.

      • I have a thursday meeting and it has been occurring on that day too.  Hopefully the fix is in.

  • Kevin, thank you for the forum post. We spoke with IT and, long story short, they upped the seat count for all of our Adobe Connect rooms. The challenges many of us experienced last week should now be resolved.

    • Thanks, Jerrod! I'll keep my fingers crossed for this week.

    • Whew! I had the same problem last week and have been making myself crazy trying to find a fix! Thank you so much!
